San Andres Mexican Maduro
Cuban-seed tobacco grown in Mexico’s San Andres region. It is noted for its smooth and toasty qualities with a sweetness that is typical of Havana Maduros. A San Andres Cuban-seed tobacco wrapper comes in a variety of shades. The dark chocolate wrapper is extra fermented and brings peppery notes with smooth, toasty qualities accompanied by the usual sweetness you find in most Maduro cigars. Flavor notes also include wood, earth soil, and clay.

Latakia Tobacco
Latakia Is mainly grown in Syria and Cyprus. It is fire cured over burning aromatics – woods and herbs (Camel dung traditionally). Although the wars in the Middle East are interrupting the supply somewhat, Latakia still remains one of the most popular “spice tobaccos” for pipe blends. Latakia provides a heavy, rich, smoky flavor.
MAPACHO Wild Tobacco (Nicotiana Rustica)
It is most close in flavor to a dark air cured burley crossed with a cigar leaf.
There are deep, earthy tones but with ever-present natural floral notes.
We call Virginias “grassy” or “fruity” and Burleys “nutty” or “woodsy” or “with caramel notes”. This isn’t quite any of those: it’s an earthy, leafy smell. I don’t mean leaves like tea leaves, or dry leaves, but rather like when you’re out in a dense wooded area in the summer, and there’s a subtle but permeating aroma of vegetation. Mapacho leaf has a very high nicotine content but I don’t extract the nicotine. It has a distinctively strong very “tobacco” note.
Cigar leaf varieties are all natural. No artificial flavors - ever!
